74/365: I am envious, not jealous

Sent 13 June 2010

So from what I understand, technically the word jealous should only be used when you are in possession of the object you are jealous over. So if you were married and your husband is chatting to that hot blonde over there by the bar, using his best lines to make her chuckle, then you could be jealous. But if someone you know owns the complete set of Star Trek The Next Generation on DVD, you wouldn’t be jealous, you would be envious.

I think that’s right?

Till tomorrow
